How's about "Black Like Me"?
Now there's some _serious_ political incorrectitude.

How about "Pimp" by Iceberg Slim?

I read one of his books. Ice-T the rapper, hard rocker, gangsta ( won't tell you which set though for marketing purposes), actor on tv and movies and commercials got his name from Iceberg Slim.

I liked the movie and I was assigned the book in high school. The teacher has had other issues according to the article.

Great book. I read it from the school library although it wasn't assigned. The author took a drug that made him his skin turn Black then went around the South. The author has since died and the drug he took shortened his life.

I think I read that. Great that Whites read books about ppl other than themselves once in a while and vica versa. I really liked Paul Robenson's auto biography I was 23 when a Indo woman turned me onto it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Robeson too bad he embraced Communism during the Stalinist years.
