The Aboriginal history after European settlement was horrid. The residential schools in Canada were pretty bad and the mass graves should have been investigated here 30 years ago. Japan does not teach its high school students about the war crimes Nippon committed in WW2 unlike Germany.

ANU published book, there were songs about it in the 80s, the Human
Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission's National Inquiry into the

Families was in the mid 90s, apologies were given by most States in the
late 90s and Rudd gave a national apology in 2008 in Parliament.

You are correct, it goes way back to the "social Darwinism"

We generally don't think about Canada. It always seems
